Where are you?

Craigslist is always worth keeping an eye on, and if you are near or in Colorado, the Nickel Ads out of Grand Junction has a good selection

Thanks for the suggestions, I am trying them all. (I am in Durango). I think the main problem is, I want what I want, and it's out of the budget! Confused

I just bought a two horse straight load with a huge tack room for $3K - if I had had $5K my search would have been quicker and easier Laughing

Where do you live? Believe me, I didn't start at 5k..just got into horses and the initial investment is bad enough without adding on a trailer...but I really need one, so it needs to happen.

I'm not finding anything out there even at 5K. Found one used one, 1997, but needs a paint job immediately. Price was $4,600, paint job estimate $2,000! At that point, you have a $6,600 11 year old trailer.....

Also found a smaller straight load with a tack compartment (not walk-in) for $3,000...seemed overpriced for what it was.

Where did you find yours?

I'm on the Western Slope. The one I bought was about to go on Craigslist when I happened to be talking to the owner, so was able to buy it on the spot. There's a 1996 2 horse slant (which I would have preferred) in the Nickel this week

Thanks, I'll take a look at that. I was thinking it would be easier with the economy being so bad, but the deal's aren't exactly flying at me!

Thanks..I've actually seen this trailer. It belongs to a friend of my trainers. It's a really nice trailer but needs a paint job to prevent surface rust in seams from becoming a real problem. It is steel. The estimate I had for a paint job was $2,000! That makes it a $6600 11 year old trailer. I can get a new one for that. If I knew someone who could do the paint job for less, or she'd come down in the price, I'd certainly consider it.

I appreciate you keeping an eye out for me!!

hey Dreamhorse

I've just been hit with two unexpected bills (why oh why didn't I go to vet school????) - do you want to have a look at my trailer? I'd have to check but I think it's a 92 (?) or a 96(??) - two horse straight load with a dressing room (not just a tack room! You could travel a pony in there Laughing ) - I'd sell it for what I bought it for $3K - let me know

It's a 1992 Circle THT Trailer - originally sold by Howards Trailer sales in Greeley CO. It is 14' long and weighs 2600lbs. It is 7'2" tall (extra tall) - electrics and brakes are perfect.

Photos - quickly snapped so please excuse the fact it isn't clean!

there's a small dent in the front

There are escape doors and feeding doors on both sides

The saddle racks are under the manger with hooks above

and then the whole nose is empty

There's a handy hay rack on top

doors are quite scratched inside - there is a divider which isn't in

here's the divider - it also has back upper doors which are also not in

the floor is in good condition
